The 2015 Spring Meeting of The Society

At our AGM we celebrated the 150th Anniversary with a special cake.   Above you can see a picture of Ken Oultram, Susan Markham and Carole Tallon-Bailey cutting the cake.  Whilst Ken and Carole are well known to most of you newer members might be interested to know that Susan was a founder member of the Society with Ken.  She was a teacher at Daresbury School but now lives in Somerset so only comes to occasional meetings.  It was nice to see her here to help perform the catering duties!

The more formal pose  shows, on the back, Susan Markham, Margaret Tye who is of course our Minutes Secretary and Irene Rutter.
On the front are Ken Oultram, our ever popular secretary, and Arthur Carter a member of the society and friend of Susan’s.

A sadder duty at this meeting was the election of a new chairman after Keith’s sad demise.  There was a general reluctance to take on the mantle but eventually Liz Wright, Keith’s wife, volunteered herself for the role.  The entry in the Northwich Guardian announcing her appointment is shown here.
